I took the day off today to ride dirtbikes (for the second time in my life) with a coworker of mine. We headed up to Coal Creek OHV, also commonly known as Windrock because of the huge Wind Power generators at the top of the mountain.

Man, I’ve gotta say, riding dirt and street are completely different. On the street, the rear brake is seldom if ever used (at least on sportbikes). On dirt, the front brakes are pretty much useless and pretty much all braking is done with the rear. On the street, if the rear end is washing out, you can give it a little throttle and try to save it, but usually folks will give too much or chop the throttle and go down. On dirt, the rear is dancing around pretty much the whole time, it’s just something to get used to.

I’ve really gotta thank the coworker, he let me use his bike and everything, a really good guy.

Unfortunately, I didn’t bring a camera, but there were some great views. We were literally at the base of those giant wind props atop the mountain range in Anderson County. You can sometimes see them in the distance when traveling Northwest on Pellissippi Pkwy.

It was an awesome day out of work.

For those of you who don’t play any games on an Xbox, that would be Microsoft’s GamerCard. Basically it keeps track of your acheivements, etc.

I’m sure everyone thinks I am a lot cooler now…

I just have to hook up my 360 via a wireless bridge I bought the other day. I’ll have a nice little tutorial written up when it’s all said and done.

I guess I should probably try to improve my health since apparently my triglycerides are high. I guess all that beer and ice cream took its toll. I used to exercise for an hour at lunch every day, eat tuna, drink a boat load of water, etc. Now my breakfasts consist of sugary kids cereal instead of EggBeaters omelets, lunches are usually something unhealthy or too large of a portion and dinners are just the same. I don’t drink much water anymore, it’s mostly coffee and sugarfree Kool-Aid drinks.

So how do I plan on not being fat? Well, first off, 8-10 glasses of water a day. I should rephrase that to say 64-80 ounces of water a day. I would like to get back to the EggBeaters omelets, but on my bachelor-with-a-new-house budget, Malt-O-Meal is pretty good. Hey, at least it’s skim milk, right? Lunches will consist of a salad, tuna-salad sandwich with minimal mayo, and a fruit. Dinners, well, fish or chicken, a salad, and some kind of carb. I’m going to try to cut out sweets and substitute with fruit.

As for the exercise, I would like to get in at least 20 minutes of cardio at least 3 times per week. Optimally, 30 minutes of cardio, 5 times a week, with strength training.

I just ran/walked 2.2 miles with my dog. She’s a real pistol. Actually she’s a pretty good dog for a 1 year old doberman.

The results will come November 5th, when the next employee health day comes around. We shall see what happens.

I really don’t care about the fact that he kissed another dude’s wife on the lips, that matter is between Joe and Barack. However, I am concerned about the amount of neck fat that Jill Biden possesses. Check it out, it’s almost as if her neck is doing “the wave.”

About 2 weeks ago, the place I work for had an Employee Health Day. I found out that, although healthier than most of my co-workers, I was apparently unhealthy. Not the the point that I was going to die soon, like Mr. JackASCII, but still not good. Taking these statistics, I started trying to get back in the swing of running again. Let me say that running outside is totally different than a treadmill or an elliptical. It seems that I can do a lot more thinking outside when I am experiencing a lot more pain.

In my thinking moments, when I wasn’t focusing on not focusing on the lactic acid building up in my legs, I thought that perhaps I should create a new web site. Not some here and there, sometimes I blog, sometimes I don’t, but something informative, creative, etc. For example, at the moment, I am using some of my webspace to test applications such as osTicket and HelpDesk Live! I may open these up to the public at some point, but for now, they are hidden in directory structure

So, what is my purpose? Well, for one, a lot of pictures. People love pictures, no matter what it is. I’ve always thought that vlogging, or video blogging, was lame so I won’t be doing any of that. However, I will try to be as informative as possible with whatever I am doing, such as installing these webapps or what I’m experiencing at work, such as installing Oracle 11g.

Yeah, hopefully mostly tech, but comedy should come of it as well. Here’s to something new…
